ATISHA TIBETAN -- THE BREEDING STORY
HISTORY

Atisha Tibetans was established in 1985 with the purchase of a white
and black parti female Tibetan Terrier puppy who was eventually named McLean’s Madame du Bearie.
“Bearie” stole Sheryl’s heart with her intelligence
and charm. Bearie was purchased as a pet from an ad in the
newspaper, to the horror of the other respected breeders in the
Washington area. However, she went on to become an AKC champion
and the matriarch of one of the most famous lines of champions in the
history of the breed. Bearie was fortunate to be bred to her one
true love – Ch. Bex Tiger Paw of Regalia -- in 1987. That first breeding with Tiger Paw produced Ch. McLean’s Magic Tiger in Tuxedo,
Sheryl’s “first born son,” in addition to many other
champions. “Magic” was in turn bred to his true love
– Ch. Regalia’s An-Juli-En of Shalu who produced Ch. Shalu Atisha’s Magic Firebird (“Blaze”) and Ch. Shalu Atisha’s Magic Garden
(“Eden”), in addition to many other champions. Blaze
was bred to Ch. Atisha Kimik’s Finlandia Fire and produced a son
that will now carry on the line – Ch. Atisha’s Blazing Black Adder.

"EXCELLENCE WITH ELEGANCE"
Atisha
Tibetans are known for their graceful, elegant movement. My motto
is “excellence with elegance.” I strive to
continually improve my Tibetan Terriers by combining the best of
American and European lines. Even after more than two decades of
breeding Tibetan Terriers, I am always looking to improve my breeding
program without losing what I have worked too hard to achieve.
